Any help/advice on weird sim lock troubleshooting

Here's a short rundown of my mind bending puzzle of a N900T. The note 3 is originally a Tmobile variant as seen and designated by N900T. Phone is rooted and completely payed for and is NOT blacklisted and has been since the day it came out of the box. I am on the UBUCNB4 baseband and have updated to the 4.4 BL. I left tmobile and went straight to Walmarts Family mobile by just popping in a new sim and making the call to them for activation. No problems at all... Now I'm trying to switch to cricket and when I pop in their sim card the phone says invalid sim and requests a network sim unlock code?! I am at my wits end here. I have talked to tier 3 tech support for both Tmobile and Family mobile and they tell me neither has sim locked my device... I have gotten as far as tmobile actually pulling up their imei tools and trying to get me a Sim code and they say there isn't one because there is absolutely no lock set on the device at all.... I have tried multiple roms to no avail.. So... is this a weird problem with the 4.4 BL being locked? That is my only guess. I know that the EFS is now locked but is this the real issue? Any advice, guidance and help here would be greatly appreciated as I am worried about paying 40 bucks for a company to run a Sim unlock code generator to tell me the same that tmobile did... There isn't one.. Thank you for reading as I am completely stumped on this one
