Iphone 5s was stolen in Tenerife, can it be used?

Hi guys just a general question here, I was pick pocketed in Tenerife at the weekend, my phone was O2 in uk with passcode and Icloud both activated, I am just curious can this be used anywhere else in the world? It has been barred but its been offline since its been stolen so according to Icloud its pending the usual services like Sound Alarm, Erase Iphone ?
