One X Disassembly: Front Camera attached to frame instead of motherboard

Replacing an HTC One X screen that got run over and, while reassembling, we discovered that the front camera didn't come away from the frame during disassembly like in all the repair videos we've played (it's attached to the motherboard. Ours seems to be attached to the frame with a metal clip and to make matters worse, there is a tab on the end that's riveted to the frame (a plastic pin that's been melted and flattened), so it doesn't seem removable. There is cushioning tape on the front around the lens.



Has anyone seen this mounting?



The motherboard is printed with the date 2012-02-02. It's an AT&T HTC One X LTE
