Hi,
after much reading I think the problem I'm having with my iphone 4s is with the U1001_rf chip.
Does anyone know a person or company in the uk that could help with the repair? I've searched internet and auction sites but no one I've contacted can do it and it's not something I fancy doing without the right tools.
The short history of the problem to date:
Water damaged Iphone,
Initial problem with charging and short battery life,
replaced dock connector myself which seemed to improve battery life very slightly although constant drain whether phone was on or off. Lasted about 11 hours normal use,
wifi and bluetooth stopped working a couple of weeks later so i took the phone apart and cleaned logic board with isoproply. Put phone back together and wifi and bluetooth worked.
Phone couldn't find network, constantly searching.
My initial searches indicated that it may be worth updating to latest firmware which then caused error (1).
Some other items that may have caused problems:
When putting the phone back together i dropped a screw and I could swear I saw a blue flash across C126_RF (although this may have been my imagination as it was late and I was dreary eyed).
When i connected the antenna cable back it got pinched under one of the screws.
I put the earth connector to the camera in the wrong way
Initially and when i connected to the computer i.e. charging, the phone had an overtemp warning. At this point it was still searching for the network so I put it into recovery mode and tried to update which is when I got error (1) not (-1).
