Unlocking mifi( vodaphone r203-z)

I hope this is in the right area.



I need to unlock my mifi as I am finding the price of data expensive.



So I need some help:

1- can I unlock it?( and how do I do it)

2- can I use a 'normal' sim( eg data,text, minutes) as these seem alot cheaper.
