Samsung SM-N900 and i9505 IMEI disappears

Had an N900 and i9505 come through both were on and working apart from the fact that sometimes the call drops and the IMEI becomes null. I tried to flash the N900 and it failed leaving it stuck in kies mode. Tried different flash files still did not work. Anyone come across this problem before? Sometimes the IMEI will show and randomly it won't. Do you think it may be baseband IC?
